Laparoscopic approach overcomes the disadvantages of a conventional open repair which includes large upper abdominal incision, wound infection and dehiscence, prolonged ileus and pulmonary complications, delayed recovery times and late complications like incisional hernia. Laparoscopic repair confers all the advantages of minimal access surgery for this life-threatening condition and is desirable in properly selected patients. Many studies support this modality of management. 3-5
